I've also tested that and didn't seem to cause any problems.

Ok, I turned off the AI ...... I went thru all the planes and checked them off ...... I turned the AI to 0 and the check box is checked in front of it........ I turned off all the weather stuff ........ this is really weird....this is the only plane that I'm having problems with.

another thing to try...
C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10\Profiles\Setups
delete the defult files and anything DA42
then run IF and gen a new flight

So you would delete these:
0_Eaglesoft Diamond Twin Star X_Default_Default.ini
Eaglesoft Diamond Twin Star X_Default_Default.ini
Default_Default.ini

Hi Steve, sorry for the delay. I deleted default ini and the tower ini but I can't find the references to the Diamond Twin Star default. Are they in a different folder?

It's me again .... I've been messing with this thing the better part of the night. I don't want you to waste your time with it anymore ...... the more I'm testing it, the more weird things I'm seeing. I hate to even think this but I might have to re-install. I dread the thought of re-installing all the addons I have on here but I think I may have too. If your system is running fine with it, well it must be on my end. Thanks for all your help and once again sorry for wasting your time. I'll let you know, either way what happens .... just in case you run into another nut like myself.

Hey Steve, before I uninstalled everything I thought I would first try deleting the fsx.cfg. So I did. The problem I was starting to notice yesterday was any plane I flew, I couldn't see the plane from the outside. It was invisible except for the glass. Inside I could see everything fine.

Now after deleting the cfg file I ran If again, re indexed and the diamond still crashed so I tried the Columbia 400. It was able to make a flight plan and run it. But when I hit the s key and looked outside, everything was invisible again. So then I went to c:/appdata/iffliight/flights/new/0flight.flt (or something like that, none in documents) and did the open with MSFS and everything worked fine. Including the outside textures of the plane.
Does this make any sense to you?

Any "tweaks" been set in your fsx.cfg?
Best to avoid any adjustments to FSX and go with the FSX sliders.
Another thing is set your GPU to defaults in the GPU control panel.
Traffic programs can take a while to start up so you dont get the bandwidth to load the textures quick enough. Plus IF weather takes a few seconds to install at the start.
Don't use unlimited fps.
Any of the above can cause problems.

Another thing I'm thinking of: have you tried reinstalling the plane?

BTW this is the normal place to look for FSX flights and plans in Win7:
C:\Users\Username\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files
You will Find: IFlight.FLT, IFlight.PLN, IFlight.htm, when you have run the IF flight once.
