Error generating flight plan

Postby Ener » Fri Aug 31, 2012 7:43 am

Bought IF a couple of days ago. I tried to generate flight plans but I always get following message :
failed to generate flight plan. See logfile. Flight plan is not loading.
The logfile does not give any information about an error.

What can cause this error ?

Thanks for advice.

Hi,

Can you make sure the index is fully built, at the startup page popup menu
Complete Scenery and Aircraft index.

Once that's done can you go to the profile page and press new profile

leave the profile page as it is with the new profile (can delete it later) and go back to the home page and press the red right hand arrow icon to build a flight.

Let me know if that works

make sure you installed [sd]

Hi

Followed your instructions, [sd] is installed but still get the same error.

Indexing of airprots and missions takes a few minutes. The indexing of aircrafts just
a few seconds. Could this be a problem that aircrafts are not indexing correctly ?

Does the new profile show you have the baron 58 blue?
and you are at EGFF?

It's possible to have an incompatible aircr4aft.
open in notepad:
C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10\Profiles\Aircraft.ini
The aircraft are scanned in alphabetical order, have a look to see if the aircraft match.
An aircraft incompatible can be placed in a folder only FSX will see.

There's a section in the help index on aircraft problems and about what to do to move a plane off the SimObjects folder.
Moving an aircraft directory to another location and rerunning IF aircraft is a quick way to eliminate. There's not many planes that don't work. I am presuming a flight does not get built and no briefing is viewable?
Speak later.

New profile shows Baron 58 blue at EGFF

Sim/Object aircrafts match IF aircrafts.ini. Did not see any errors.

In flight parameters ticking or unticking the box of "exclude this aircraft from ai operetaions"
is not saved.

Indexing of aircrafts takes max. 5 seconds.

Still get same error.

after the failed build, can you right click popup menu - Logfile
opens in notepad, can you send me the text - it will show me where the build gets to when it fails
thanks and very sorry about the problem you are having.

Is your system fairly standard?

Can you go to Flight Gen and disable Ai Aircraft and try the build again with the default profile.

(The Ai checkbox setting is ignored, but you can set Ai Aircraft from the Ai Selection button in Flight Gen)

Thanks

My system is Windows XP SP3 fairly standard.

"Disable AI aircraft in Flight Gen" you mean under parameters Exclude this aircraft from ai operation ?

If so, I still get the error.

At the moment this has got me outfoxed. It fails to paint the images for the airports and the route, it's not something that's come up before.

What screen resolution do you have set?
