Interoperability with Aivlasoft EFB

Postby AaronMyers » Thu Aug 02, 2012 12:37 am

Hello,

So I am trying the demo of the product which I do appreciate by the way, but I am having an issue when selecting a new sid/star from the Aivlasoft interface during the flight. When I select and activate a sid/star from EFB it writes a new flight plan to FSX. IF seems to note this and then flips the system back to whatever flight plan that was filed with it. Any thought or other procedures I should be using to get them to work together better?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure at what stage you are at, but you can take the plan with the sid/star fixes and drop it on or open it with IF and rebuild the flight. Then Start the flight again.

or do you mean the flight is stopped and the plan reactivated mid flight?
if the plan is changed mid flight, while still paused, try and replace the original IF plan.

the master flight files are in:
C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10\Flight\New
and they are copied to:
C:\Users\<name>\Documents\Flight Simulator X Files
just before the flight

Thanks for the quick reply.

This occurs during the flight. I'm sitting at the ramp, primary flight has already been generated save for the selection of sid/star. Starting up the systems and programming the FMC. Then I check weather and get the active runway. From that I choose the sid and activate it in Aivlasoft. As soon as I activate it in Aivlasoft it generates a new flight file for FSX and activates it there. This causes IF to get confused and it resets the flight. This occurs near the end of the flight as well, same type of scenario. As I get close to my destination I check weather, find the active runway, and choose my star appropriately in Aivlasoft. Again this activates a new flight file in FSX and IF is confused by it.

I will have to try it myself as I'm not sure what you mean by this.

if it's any help; if a new plan is activated IF knows about it, but does nothing about it.

something else must be going on, IF does not Reset flights.

I believe what it's doing is that once IF detects that FSX has loaded a different flight plan, it forces FSX to reload the flight plan it is using. I don't know much about IF, but this is what it appears.

When a plan is loaded, IF saves the flight so it stores the new plan file name in the flight file (an addon should keep the original plan file name) Have a look at the IF log (popup menu), it should say new plan loaded, but that's all it does. I'm looking at that code now...

i've not had time to investigate EFB yet.

In the meantime while i'm thinking about it, does FSX move you to a new location when this happens?
