Hi again steve,

I have just re-installed and got the same error on the first run, I clicked the arrow to proceed and it says that my scenery might have changed click ok to update index files, as soon as I click OK it gives me an error saying "cannot configure profile: load airport data"

what you do is make sure your FSX is up to date
if you have installed any scenery make sure you have run FSX once so that FSX bulds it's index.

Now without FSX running install Ideal Flight
- make sure you have uninstalled it first from the control panel

once installed, run the icon, let it build the index, after the index it reads the aircraft, can takke a few minutes.

When the index is finished and the planes read you arrive at the airport screen.

the program has you start at EGFF you can change that later but got to start somehwere

At the top right is the New Flight button - press that

you get a flight out of EGFF in the Baron58

press the fly button bottom right

if FSX is not running then it will launch

if FSX is running it will start to load the flight

fly the route and come to a halt, exit FSX

Thats the problems steve, it will not build the index when it's first installed so I can not get it to start at EGFF. I only have one airport scenery installed and that is UK2000 EGSS.

it sounds like you've not uninstalled the program completely and a file is present...EGSS works fine

so can you make sure there are no files, when you run the uninstaller a button runs explorer at the data location, make sure the folder is deleted and install again
C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10

yes this means that there is an installation of Ideal Flight on the disk

in explorer
goto - C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10 - and delete all files and folders in it

then run IF from the icon

so rather than doing uninstall/install
just delete the data directory then run the IF desktop icon, see if it comes up then

I presume when you install IdealFlight it says "files installed" and "will complete when IF first run"
so you close that

then run IF from the desktop icon?

Yes when I re install it says files installed and will complete when first run. I close it down and restart it and get the index error.

I have just tried deleting all the files and folders in ideal flight 10 in the programdata folder and still got the same error when I started the program :(

Really looks like a no go for me, such a shame as it really does look awesome :(
