Are you starting at EGFF, or have you gone to an addon airport? At what stage does the error pop up?

...did you have a prior installation from an earlier release?

if so uninstall from the control panel and reinstall [rp]
press the next flight (white arrow top button) and see if it bulds a flight from EGFF.

If so go back to your favourite addon airport and see if you can build a flight there. It is possible there could be some kind of anomaly in an addon airport that needs handling. If so, I can load it up and make a work around for it.

The IF indexer and airport data reader is a little stricter in places than FSX since it started out working only with addons built to the exact specification. An addon airport that cannot be read will be rare by now.

Hi,

I am also getting this exact same error on a completely fresh install. It does not matter if I reboot or re install Ideal Flight, Using the drop the down menu to reindex the data just gives me the same error. Everytime I just get error loading profile: airport.

I t says try indexing from the maintain indexes drop down menu but this also gives the same error no matter what options I choose.

Really would like to test this program out as the forum post on Avsim really does make this sound awesome.

do a fresh install and don't even change the profile name, just press the top right arrow and let it build a flight
then run the fight see if that works first
sounds like you have an addon airport casuing a situation.

Hi steve,

No I have never even heard of the program before today, so it's a completely fresh install.

I don't understand about starting at EGFF, Am I supposed to have FSX running when I start Ideal Flight? I always thought it was best to start any scenery index before running FSX.

Ideal flight when first installed says it will finish the setup when the program is run for the first time, when I run it for the first time this is where the error happens. So I'm guessing it wont even have an airport database to start at EGFF.

so does not complete the index and go to the airport page for you to press the top right button?
