Random Load

Postby ashigar » Mon Jan 23, 2012 9:43 pm

Hi Steve,
Great program that I have been using since it came out and after reading about it from Avsim forum. Anyway, I have the latest update (R"X") can't remember the letters and ever since since that last two updates, my random load (100% and RN) is messed up. I keep getting ONLY 96 PAX on PMDG 737NGX over and over again. About the only time this 96 changes is when I use say 98 or 99 % and even that will still give me a constant load of 94 PAX. This case also applies to QW 757 where no matter what I get 182 Pax load.
Another issue is, when I set up period of length I want to fly, the program will always chose as destination, my previous departure airport first. Example if I EGGK is my departure and want fly for say 3HRS, I will get EHAM which was my last flight's departure. Hope I Have explained my self well. Please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong.

Hi Ashigar,
I'll check through that carefully and get back to you in a bit.
It can all be sorted out for the next update [rn] (imminant).
Thanks for your support.

Hi Ashigar,
Yes the random load thing came out in the wash. The gross weight is being used rather than the "useable load". That's all working properly now.

Could be your other problem is also resolved too.

Do you mean that after accepting your flight into the records,
you go back to the min page and press the -> next flight button?

and it gives you the return journey?

First of all, it could come up anyway since it will naturally be one in range of you.

It could always come up as the only airport in range.

You can have a situation where only two airports of your filter settings, are in range
- so you keep returning and back again
- you would need to set the filter or maybe a longer flight time.

I've been checking and always get a good random selection.

Let me know if i'm on track, I may have missed your point.

Thanks again for supporting Ideal Flight.

Best regards;

Steve,
Good to know something was actually broken. Thanks for fixing that, and I hope it's going to be in the next update?
The second problem is that....last night I did SBEG-TTPP and tonight when I tried to do OMSJ to any airport within a 3-hr period, the destination came as SBEG. In this case after going back to delete and regenerate a new flight with the same settings, this time, I got VABB which I'm doing as I type. In this scenario, my next flight no matter what I set will initially generate OMSJ as my new destination regardless of my departure location. (I noticed this at the same time as the fixed random load issue)
Next question is, is there a way to do a "directional" flight? As going all W or E or N or S? Thnx

Hi Ashigar,
Well i've been gong all over the place and never got a repeat trip, so perhaps that issue is fixed.
If you find the checkboxes near the bottom right of flight gen to enable and disable the four 90degree quadrants around you. Only want to go east? check the NE and SE quadrants.
Let's see what version [rn] brings...

Hi Steve,
Sorry to announce to you that the latest update "rn' did not fix any of my problems mentioned in this post. I'm still getting the same payload over and over again on each flight for my add-on AC (QW 757...182 pax, NGX...96 pax, ES Citation X 2.0...10 pax) etc.
The randomness is gone for me. And again I'm still getting the previous flight departure airport as my next flight destination; no matter what my settings are. Thnx

Hi Ashigar,
Are you sure you have the 'Payload %' value grayed out and the button to the right shows 'Rn'?

...and you are using the top right arrow button to get the next flight?
You can see the airports found in the search by going into the flight gen page and drop down the list.
It could be there's only one airport in range, the one you came from?

I'm getting random loads with those aircraft, the value should be grayed out and Rn on the button...

Hi Steve,
Okay when I tried the "100' random load, it gave me the same load as before. Then I switched to "Rn' and got a different load, so I think it is working now. Thnx.
However, the issue with getting all my destinations as my previous departures is still alive. Sunday night I did my sector from VABB (Refer to above post) to UAAA (Actually, it planned for OMSJ first again). Tonight, I wanted to generate a flight from EGGD to "SE" btn 2:30 & 3:30 hrs, the flight plan again first gave me the random destination as back to VABB. I went and just deleted the VABB, then "left arrowed' back to main page to hit the "right arrow" to get my random destination as GMMX which I'm flying as I am typing. Thnx
Ashigar.
