Hi Steve, thanks again for advice.

I found the (right click) other settings and checked "disable require admin".
restarted , steam was still asking.
then I noticed that on that 4th? install I let it install to C:\.. program files, so I uninstalled it again,
deleted IF10 folder, Installed with admin rights outside windows folder, run as admin
I had all running as admin but steam, so checked that as well to run as admin.
Now in "Other Settings" submenus, I don't see the "disable require admin" option anymore !
after running 2 times IF10 and fsx I uninstalled IF again and reinstalled , still I don't see the option in
other settings anymore and steam is asking every time for allowance.

Info Steam validate, if someone comes along the same way:
After the steam update IF was not running and I validated steam again, with 8420 files.
After reinstalling Orbx Global there were 815 new steam files left over. (looks like ca 7600 for Global)
I installed also REX4 again but think that was not needed, just run REX4 with new theme,
then were ca 310 files left which steam changed. (some default aircraft, trees, sounds, buildings)

good thing, IF is running, just the steam asking for Ok, I can live with that.
thanks again for help

The problem I imagine is from your checking the "running as admin" setting for steam and other things on the desktop links.

Since the "IF10 Other Setting -> disable admin" will *only show in the menu* if the steam fsx file has the "Invoke asAdmin" setting embedded in the file, which it has not because you removed it with the menu item.

Instead you are using the "run as" flag on the links which means it will still run as admin.

The idea is to *not use* the "run as" checkbox on the links.

So I just tried the repair cache and it repaired the FSX file and so the Other Settings Disable admin shows up again in the menu, I checked it and Updated and back to no questions. None of my stuff runs as admin as it's a pain in the a.

There are three basic ways that a program "Runs as Admin":

1. The file has code embedded in it that instructs Windows to run it as admin - this is the code that IF10 alters in the Steam Ed FSX.EXE file with the "Other Settings" "Disable requires admin". If we do that we find a saved FSX.EXE in the fsx steam folder if we want to put it back.

2. The desktop link that runs a program can have the Properties set manually to "Run as Admin". This is what we do to the IF10 desktop link if we do not want to do 1. to FSX.EXE.

3. A program can be right-clicked then "Run As Admin" can be chosen from the popup menu.

If any component of the sim Runs as Admin, then all components must be Run as Admin or you will get problems. It's better to level everything down to not run as admin.

I've improved the menu option in 1. above, to set or unset the admin requirement on the FSX-SE fsx.exe file. I'll make it available in preview in the newbuilds section shortly. Thanks for your input alf!
