Root folder?

Postby zoran » Tue May 29, 2012 11:22 pm

Hi
Just a question regarding where the IF is installed, can it be installed outside of FSX on a separate drive?

You should be able to install IF where you like, but the data folder will always be:
C:\ProgramData\Ideal Flight 10
IF is so small it's hardly worth worrying about where it's installed. If I had a separate drive for FSX I'd keep everything off it except FSX, including a swap file.

I have 2 ssd"s both 128g. One is full with fsx the other empty

the problem is if I transfer FSX to the second SSD I still wont have much storage space because the drives are the same size so a dedicated FSX drive isnt going to work

The only real option is to transfer what I can to the second SSD to free up space

any suggestions?

problem solved with this nifty device by installing a folder in FSX that diverts to another drive but tricks the add on into thinking its C drive http://technet.micro...y/cc753321.aspx

Ahh yes, good one Zoran. I intend to have a play later.
I'm just in the final stage of the [rr] upgrade, a big one. :D
